Vung Tau names road after General Giap

The People's Committee of the Vung Tau City of the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau said it had finally chosen a road to name after General Vo Nguyen Giap.

A part of National Highway 51 from a traffic-circle on Road February 3 to the Co May Bridge will now be called Vo Nguyen Giap. The city said it had also named other parts on National Highway 51 as Hoang Sa and Truong Sa.

Kon Tum offers education to youngsters

Most of the communes in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum have kindergartens, according to the provincial Department of Education and Training.

More than 45 per cent of local communes and towns have education for five-year-old children, according to the department.

HCM City strengthens fight against fakes

HCM City's People's Committee has told departments, districts and communes to take steps to prevent counterfeit products made for the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday next year.

The city has given companies guidance on how to prevent the use of counterfeit goods. Violators selling counterfeit goods will be punished.

Quang Nam offers VND261b to clear land

The central province of Quang Nam has set aside VND261 billion (US$12 million) for land clearance on the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Highway.

The money will be divided among seven districts, including Nui Thanh District, Duy Xuyen, Tam Ky, Que Son, Thang Binh, Phu Ninh and Dien Ban districts.
