Wood products exports fetched US$3.8 billion in the first nine months of the year, a year-on-year increase of 13.8 per cent, according to the Viet Nam Timber and Forest Products Association.
The association said with the current positive situation in terms of export orders, the industry is expected to achieve 10-15 per cent growth, meeting the year's export target of $5.5 billion.

Binh Phuoc to repossess 3,200ha of forest
Southern Binh Phuoc Province has urged the administration to seize 3,205ha of forest lands handed over to companies for growing rubber and other purposes.
It said many of them have failed to use the lands effectively or as regulated, with many of them leaving them unused.
The provincial authorities have repossessed more than 560ha of forest lands from the Sai Gon-Binh Phuoc Investment and Development Joint Stock Company.

Motorbike imports down in first nine months
Import of motorbikes cost US$352 million in the first nine months of the year, 22 per cent less than in the same period last year, according to the General Statistics Office.
Imports of complete built unit (CBU) motorbikes accounted for $34 million, down 32 per cent.
In the reviewed period, automobile imports went up by 7.4 per cent to $1.64 billion, with CBU cars accounting for $476 million, a 6 per cent rise.
