More than 10,000 spots in the southern province of Dong Nai have been infected with conjunctivitis since the beginning of this month. It is very contagious and has spread quickly, particularly in Bien Hoa City, Long Khanh Town, Vinh Cuu and Trang Bom communes.
HCMC companies earn VND56 trillion in August
The HCM City's Department of Planning and Investment reported that in August, the municipal People's Committee's companies reached revenue of more than VND56 trillion (US$2.6 billion).
The figure represents 57 per cent of the annual target. It is 39 per cent less than the amount during the same period last year. Most of the declining revenue was from cooperatives.

Quang Ninh attracts 30 FDI projects
Industrial zones in the northern province of Quang Ninh attracted 30 foreign direct investment projects between the beginning of this year to mid-September.
Thirty projects had a total registered capital of US$827 million.

Japanese companies bring jobs to 30,000
The Viet Nam – Japan Friendship Association in the central city of Da Nang said that Japanese companies in the city have created jobs for more than 30,000 local workers.
Moreover, Da Nang University has worked with 26 universities in Japan to develop training.
Currently, more than 90 Japanese companies and representative offices are operating in the city with a total capital of US$370 million.

Tan Binh District builds new schools
Tan Binh District of HCM City has invested more than VND93 billion (US$4.4 million) to build two schools and one kindergarten to meet increasing demand.
The district has spent another VND6.7 billion ($319,000) to upgrade 10 kindergartens and 14 schools to ensure the quality of facilities for 70,000 students.
