The Viet Nam Labour Union in co-operation with its partners have offered consulting programmes on labour law, wages and salary, and health care issues for labourers across the country. More than 218,000 labourers have benefited from the programmes.
Several hundred forums and talks have been organised to raise public awareness about the law and related issues.

Culture House gives further education, job advice
A consulting programme on vocational guidance for high school students was launched in HCM City this week by the city's Cultural House for Students in co-operation with its partners.
During the two-month event, experts will visit 10 secondary schools around the city to provide students with knowledge and information on university education, vocational training, skill requirements for jobs, employment prospects and labour market.

HCMC contains thousands of unlicensed homes
More than 3,000 houses have been illegally built in HCM City this year, reported the Department of Construction. The department's deputy director Quach Hong Tuyen said most unlicensed houses were located in the rural districts of Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Thu Duc and Go Vap. Locals often built homes on farmland, he said, citing lax oversight by the districts.
