The central province of Phu Yen will build a sea dyke in Phu Dong ward of Tuy Hoa city at a cost of VND12 billion (US$550,000).
The dyke will be 690m long and 5.5m tall.
It is scheduled to be finished before the rainy season and will protect 180 households in Ro commune.

Firms fined for trade violations

As of August, 43 out of the country's 63 provinces and cities have begun to pay monthly pensions and social subsidies through post offices, according to the Viet Nam Social Insurance.
The remaining provinces will join them in September and October.
There are around 2.9 million people in the country who get pensions and social subsidies worth VND100 trillion ($4.76 billion) each month.

HCM City to open more notary offices
Since the Notary Public Law came into effect in July 2007 the number of notary offices in HCM City has shot up to 42.
A master plan envisages increasing the number to 110 by 2020 to meet the rising demand.
