The Ha Noi People's Committee has approved a plan to build parks and artificial lakes and plant trees in the next two years at a cost of VND4.993 trillion (over US$237 million).
The plan includes the 322-hectare Yen So Park, a park and lake at the Mai Dich Cemetery, and Nhan Chinh, Huu Nghi, and CV1 Parks.

129 resettlement areas to be built in Mekong
According to the Ministry of Construction, the Government has approved construction of resettlement areas for people living in flood- and landslide-prone spots in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta.
One hundred twenty nine of them will be built in Dong Thap, An Giang, Kien Giang, Tien Giang, Vinh Long, and Hau Giang Provinces and Can Tho to provide accommodation for more than 57,200 families.

2,300 road accidents recorded in August
The National Traffic Safety Committee reported that 2,305 traffic accidents occurred around the country in August, causing 728 deaths and injuries to 2,387 people.
These represent a decrease of 245 cases, 27 deaths, and 298 injured compared to a last ago.
In the first eight months of 2013, there have been 6,330 deaths on the country's roads.

Da Nang tweaks fishing-boat subsidy policy
The Da Nang People's Committee has amended its policy on subsidies for building deep-sea fishing boats.
The city will continue to provide subsidies of up to VND800 million – for vessels of above 800CV – but the minimum period for which fishermen should use them has been increased from two to seven years.
The city has also waived registration fees for the boats.
Since last year, the city has provided VND6 billion ($285,000) for nine vessels.
