Tien Giang's tourism revenue reaches $66m
Total tourism revenue for the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Tien Giang was nearly VND1.4 trillion (US$66.73 million) in the first five months of the year, a rise of 14.6 per cent against the same period last year.
The province welcomed more than 447,000 visitors during that period. Of that figure, 225,000 were foreigners.

Hospital saves life of 500g newborn
Doctors at Thanh Hoa Children Hospital were able to save the life of a baby that weighed only 500 grammes at birth.
Dr Le Xuan Trung, chief of the hospital's Newborn Baby First Aid Department, said the infant, whose name is Le Sy Cuong, was born prematurely on May 11, only after 27 weeks of pregnancy.
After 10 days under intensive care at the hospital, the baby now weighs 850 grammes. It can breathe and eat normally.

Domestic firms set up in Binh Duong
Since the beginning of this year, 669 domestic businesses have been established in the southern province of Binh Duong with total registered capital of VND2.4 trillion (US$114.4 million).
The province has 14,165 domestic businesses operating with total registered capital of more than VND100 trillion ($4.77 billion).

French reporters promote tourism
A group of reporters from leading French tourism magazines and online newspapers are travelling across Viet Nam to cover tourism programmes and local tourism sites and events.
France is one of the major tourist markets for Viet Nam. About 99,000 French visitors arrived in the country in the first five months of the year.
