Schools without permits told to stop enrolling

A number of colleges in HCM City were instructed to stop enrolling new students for joint-training or continuing courses in 2013 after they were found conducting the courses without permits.

The schools include Asean College, Van Tuong College, Van Xuan University of Technology, Western Sai Gon College and the Binh Tan District Vocational Centre.

Some offered illegal joint-training courses, while others provided degrees without obligating students to take exams, the Ministry of Education and Training said.

Bkav introduces new anti-virus software

Internet security company Bkav on Tuesday introduced the anti-virus software Bkav 2013, using cloud computing technology.

The new version has many features like real-time "rootkit" detection and community-based protective technology.

It also has a virtual keyboard to improve security while entering passwords and account information. A special provision in the software also helps protect disks shared by a Local Area Network (LAN).
