Phu Yen to build new asphalt road

The south-central province of Phu Yen will build 1,290km of paved road in its nine districts, communes and cities from now to the end of 2015, with a total capital of VND350 billion (US$16.6 million).

All expenses including cement, pipes and transportation costs will come from the provincial budget. Financial assistance for communes and districts will vary, depending on their location.

Thai Binh attracts 640 projects

The northern province of Thai Binh has attracted 640 projects, worth a total capital of more than VND73.5 trillion (US$3.5 billion). Of the total, the province said that about 50 projects were foreign-invested, with a total capital of $340 million.

Currently, many important projects are being carried out in the province, including the Thai Binh-Ha Nam Highway. To attract more foreign and domestic investors, more investment promotions would be carried out this year.

Khanh Hoa to build new urban areas

The south-central province of Khanh Hoa will invest VND300 billion (US$14.7) million in projects to build medium- and small-sized urban areas. The money will be spent on water treatment systems, a solid-waste management system, and an education campaign to raise public awareness on environmental protection.

Railway adds more train trips to Nha Trang

The Sai Gon Railway Passenger Transport Company will run trains more frequently between Sai Gon and Nha Trang to meet demand for the holidays at the end of the month. The company will have 21 more trips to transport the predicted 10,000 travellers during the period.
