City to protect traditional craft villages

Over the next three years (2013-15), HCM City will restore and preserve 13 traditional craft villages, according to Le Hong Hoanh, deputy director of the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The three-year initiative will be part of a Craft Village Preservation and Development Project for the 2013-18 period with vision until 2020, she said at a recent press conference.

Third phase of water supply plant starts

The Sai Gon Water Investment Company (SWIC), investor of the Thu Duc Water Supply Plant, began work on its third phase on Tuesday.

The plant, scheduled for completion next year, will have a capacity of 300,000cu.m and supply water to 600,000 households, mainly in Thu Duc, Binh Chanh, Phu Nhuan and Go Vap districts.

VNAT, Vietnam Airlines sign tourism pact

The Viet Nam National Tourism Administration (VNAT) and Vietnam Airlines have signed a co-operation agreement on tourism promotion under the aegis of a broader pact between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Transport.

Under the agreement, the two sides will exchange information about promotion plans and market research; and step up co-ordination in supervising and controlling the quality of services at airports and in providing quality information for visitors.
