Da Nang set for sustainable goals

The Government has approved the Da Nang Sustainable City Development Project funded by the World Bank.

The US$272.13 million project will focus on improving the urban environment, water drainage system, and public transport and building transport infrastructure. It will be implemented in 2013-18.

Ministry releases patriotic stamp

The Ministry of Information and Communications has released a stamp on Chien Si Cong San Nguyen Thi Minh Khai (Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, a valiant Communist).

The stamp has a portrait of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, and in the background is a flag of the Communist Party and an image of the Nga Ba Giong Memorial Statue in Hoc Mon District where Khai died.

The stamp will be sold through June 2014.

Bio-fuel to be sold from 2014

The Government has decided to produce and add bio-fuel to petrol.

E5 petrol will be introduced in December 2014 in Ha Noi, HCM City, Hai Phong, Da Nang, and Can Tho and the provinces of Quang Ngai and Ba Ria – Vung Tau, and nation-wide by December 2015.

E10 petrol will be available at the seven places in December 2016 and across the country in December 2017.

Construction centre to be built in HCM City

Construction of a HCM City Urban Planning Exhibition Centre will begin in the new year in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area in District 2.

The 6,000sq.m centre has been designed by the France-based DeSo – Defrain Souquet – Architectes Associes, who won an international design contest.

Once constructed, the VND500 billion (US$23.9 million) centre will be a repository of information on HCM City's urban planning.
