Ninh Thuan provided nearly 45,000 free health insurance cards three months ago at a cost of more than VND6 billion (US$285,700) to people just above the poverty line, according to the province's Social Insurance Agency. The cards were issued under a four-year programme that began this year.

Project to improve computer, internet access
More than 4,000 computers, 637 printers, 11 servers, and other equipment were installed in public libraries in 12 provinces around the country in the first phase of a project to improve computer use and public internet access.
The project, sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is being carried out by the Ministry of Information and Communication at nearly 2,000 libraries in 40 provinces in 2011-16.

Industrial park steering committee formed
The Government has decided to set up a steering board for economic zones and industrial parks, and Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai will be its head. The board will be responsible for researching, guiding, and resolving issues related to the operation of economic zones and industrial parks.

Binh Dinh scraps eight delayed projects
The Binh Dinh Province People's Committee has approved the cancellation of two more delayed projects, according to the local Department of Investment and Planning.
They are the Quy Nhon-Bai Dai eco-tourism project and Mui Rong tourism project. In the last three months, eight projects have been cancelled after being delayed.
