Japan grants $340,000 for medical equipment

Viet Nam will receive US$340,000 in aid as part of Official Development Assistance from the Japanese Government, according to the Japanese consul general in HCM City, Harumitsu Hida, who signed the agreement this week.

The funds will be used to buy medical equipment in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong and eye-surgery equipment in the central province of Ninh Thuan. A primary school will also be built in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Tien Giang.

Can Tho pulls plug on eight property projects

The Can Tho City's People's Committee has revoked eight property projects covering 276 hectares in the city. Although the projects were licensed in 2005 and 2006, they have not been carried out. Since 2008, Can Tho City has revoked more than 40 projects.
