A project has begun to develop "Da Lat Flower" trademarks for five flowers including the daisy, rose, and carnation, which are widely grown in the city.
The Da Lat People's Committee said this was aimed at improving the flowers' competitiveness and value in the world market.
Every year millions of these flowers are sold in the domestic market and exported to many countries.

Ministry proposes dam in national park
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has suggested the Government build the Buon Tri hydroelectricity plant.
It said the dam located in the Yok Don National Park in the Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) province of Dac Lac would not affect the park's bio-diversity, and help irrigate rice fields in the area.

The Ministry of Finance and the northern province of Bac Ninh have announced a decision to set up the Bac Ninh Customs Department. The agency will help simplify customs procedures, boosting trade and the local economy.

HCM City to operate smaller buses
The HCM City Public Transport Management and Operation Centre said more small buses would soon be introduced and ply through Districts 3, 5, and 10 to ease congestion in the roads.
Duong Hong Thanh, deputy director of the Department of Transport, said the 40-seat buses would require less space than the current large ones in operation, and help ease the traffic jams plaguing the city.
The first will start operating on September 15 and pass through District 1.

City bus fares to rise during holidays
Fares on buses operating out of HCM City's two largest stations, Mien Dong (East) and Mien Tay (West), will increase by 30-40 per cent during the long holiday weekend from August 31 to National Day on September 2, their spokespersons said.
They expect the number of passengers to increase by 87 per cent during this holiday and so plan to operate more buses to meet this demand.
Many people are expected to go to tourism destinations like Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, and Da Lat.
