Hydroelectric plants ask to ensure water for irrigation

Update: July, 23/2012 - 09:27
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has discussed with the central province of Phu Yen and three hydropower plants — Song Hinh, Song Ba Ha, and Krong H'nang – the issue of releasing water downstream for irrigation.

The province had complained about a lack of flow in the Ba River believed to be caused by the three dams storing water.

The ministry said all dams must ensure water for irrigation, whether or not they generate electricity.
