Strategies for sustainable exploitation of marine resources until 2020 with a vision to 2030 have been drafted by the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment and the General Department of Sea and Islands of Viet Nam under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on Thursday.
Nguyen Van Tai, head of the institute, said the strategies aim to exploit and use natural resources sustainably, including soil, water, minerals and marine resources, and ensure the sea environment and preserve bio-diversity.

Restaurant fined $1000 for overcharging
BA RIA – VUNG TAU — The People Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau City has decided to fine a local restaurant VND20 million (US$950) for overcharging clients.
Last October, two Overseas Vietnamese had lunch with seafood in Nhu Y Restauant, and were charged a total VND4.7 million (US$224), urging them to send complaints to local authorities.
The local inspection team checked and requested the restaurant to pay back VND1 million ($48) to their clients.
