The total volume of goods through seaports in Hai Phong City reached 10.9 million tonnes in the first quarter of the year, an increase of 12 per cent against the same period last year. The total revenue of seaports in the city hit a record high of more than VND723 billion (US$34.8 million).

Ha Noi to host ethnic group cultural festival
The Viet Nam's ethnic minority cultural festival will take place in Ha Noi's Son Tay Township on April 18-19, with participation of 13 ethnic groups from eight cities and provinces in the country, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has announced.
The event will feature traditional markets and games as well as an exhibition on traditional trade villages.
The festival honours identities of ethnic groups and promotes exchanges between ethnic groups in different regions in the country.

Hung Yen attracts four new FDI projects
The northern province of Hung Yen granted investment licences to four foreign direct investment projects worth US$47 million in registered capital in the first quarter of the year, said Dang Ngoc Quynh, director of the provincial Department of Planning and Investment.
In the first quarter of the year, the province revoked the investment licence of US$4.5 million project due to failure to implement the project. The province has 217 operating FDI projects worth US$1.97 billion.
