The People's Committee of southern Bac Lieu Province has funded more than VND93 billion (US$4.46 million) to buy health insurance cards for poor and near-poor households. It has so far provided more than 137,000 cards for poor households and 71,000 cards for near-poor households.

Quang Nam halts eight foreign projects
The People's Committee of central Quang Nam Province has revoked licences for eight foreign investment projects worth total registered capital of US$104.7 million because of a failure to begin construction on schedule. Authorities said some investors had faced financial difficulties and had suspended construction of their projects.
Meanwhile, other investors have adjusted their project scale or transferred their projects illegally. These practices have affected the progress of projects and caused discontent among residents living the project areas.

Vietnamese mangoes for South Korea
Agencies in Viet Nam and South Korea are currently completing necessary administrative procedures for shipping Vietnamese mangoes to the S. Korean market.
Nguyen Huu Dat, director of the Post-Import Plant Quarantine Center II, said the Vietnamese side had completed a list of diseases and insects possible on the fruit, as well as a description of measures to prevent and treat any diseased fruit.
A Korean plant-protection agency has visited Viet Nam to inspect production and packaging processes, and it is drawing up official import standards for Vietnamese mangoes. The fruit will be transported to the Korean market next June.
