Quang Nam gets serious on illegal logging

The People's Committee of central Quang Nam Province held an emergency meeting on Monday with the heads of six districts to discuss measures to stop illegal logging, which is becoming increasingly rampant in many areas.

Most illegal logging reportedly takes place around major hydro-electric plants like Song Tranh 2, Song Tranh 3, and Song Bung 4.

Illegal loggers have destroyed nearly 60ha of forests this year in Tien Phuoc District alone.
