Tra Vinh to relocate disaster-hit households

The Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Tra Vinh will earmark VND323 billion (US$15.4 million) for relocating households affected by natural disasters including landslides and developing fishing villages.

The province will develop infrastructure for traffic, electricity, clean water, irrigation, and others at new residential areas to ensure the relocatees' lives are stable.

Ethnic groups' education to be subsidised

The Central Highlands province of Kon Tum has announced it would earmark VND13.3 billion (US$633,000) for an education project among the Brau and Ro Mam ethnic groups in 2011-15.

Infrastructure will be developed and new equipment provided to primary schools in hamlets and villages where the two groups reside.

Students belonging to the groups will also have their fees waived.
