HCM City's total agriculture-forestry-aquaculture production value topped VND11.1 trillion (US$527.6 million) last year, a year-on-year increase of 6.2 per cent, according to the city's Statistics Office.
The area of organic vegetable gardens increased 6.5 per cent over 2010, reaching 9,800ha. Similarly, the cultivation area for ornamental flowers increased by 5.2 per cent to 2,010ha and grass (for feeding livestock) by 10 per cent to 3,300ha.

Viet Nam accused of dumping steel wire
US manufacturers have submitted a petition to the US Department of Commerce and the US International Trade Commission to demand the anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigation against Vietnamese steel-wire garment hangers, said the Viet Nam Competition Authority under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
This is the third time Vietnamese exports have faced anti-dumping and anti-subsidy lawsuits. Previously, PE plastic bags and welded carbon steel pipes were subject to anti-dumping and anti subsidy lawsuits by US manufacturers.

Tax office inspects transfer prices
Transfer pricing has become a popular form of tax evasion among enterprises operating in HCM City, said Nguyen Trong Hanh, deputy director of the HCM City Taxation Department.
In the first 11 months of last year, the department inspected 235 enterprises suspected to engage in transfer pricing and claim continuous losses from one year to another.
Through such inspections, the department disclaimed the losses of VND1.78 trillion (US$84.8 million) as well as collected tax arrears and penalties worth VND1.09 trillion ($52.24 million).

Long An attracts $90.6m in FDI
Industrial parks in the southern province of Long An attracted fresh foreign investment worth US$90.6 million in 46 projects last year.
The province also attracted investments of VND7.9 trillion ($375.6 million) from local firms into 45 projects.
