Central bank raises reference exchange rate

State Bank of Việt Nam on April 18 raised the daily reference exchange rate by five Vietnamese đồng from the previous day, setting it at VNĐ22,482 per US dollar.

HÀ NỘI — State Bank of Việt Nam on April 18 raised the daily reference exchange rate by five Vietnamese đồng from the previous day, setting it at VNĐ22,482 per US dollar. 

With the current trading band of +/- 3 per cent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is VNĐ23,160 per US dollar and the floor rate VNĐ21,716 per US dollar. 

The opening hour rates at major commercial banks saw slight changes in the downward direction. 

BIDV cut five đồng from both the rates, listing the buying rate at VNĐ22,735 per US dollar and the selling rate at VNĐ22,805 per US dollar. 

Meanwhile, Vietcombank maintained its rates at VNĐ22,735 per US dollar (buying) and VNĐ22,805 (selling), unchanged from April 17. — VNS
