Three national hi-tech parks in Hòa Lạc, HCM City and Đà Nẵng have attracted 217 investment projects with a registered capital of nearly US$10 billion.

HÀ NỘI — Three national hi-tech parks in Hòa Lạc, HCM City and Đà Nẵng have attracted 218 investment projects with a registered capital of nearly US$10 billion, creating jobs for about 50,000 workers.

The information was reported by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST).

HCM City hi-tech park is owning 130 valid investment projects with total registered capital of $6.8 billion. The production value of this park has increased significantly from only $0.5 billion in 2010 to estimated $12 billion in 2017, creating nearly 40,000 jobs. It is expected that by 2020 the production value will exceed $20 billion.

Hòa Lạc hi-tech park currently has 81 valid investment projects with total registered capital of $3 billion. Last year, the total import-export turnover of enterprises in the zone had reached $2.4 billion.

In addition, seven projects at the Đà Nẵng hi-tech park have been granted investment registration certificates, with a total investment of more than $160 million till date. The total production value of the area in 2017 is estimated at $12 billion, which is expected to exceed $20 billion by 2020. — VNS
