VN telecom providers reports positive business results

Vietnamese telecommunication companies achieved positive business results in the first 11 months of this year, according to the Ministry of Information and Communications.

HÀ NỘI  Vietnamese telecommunication companies achieved positive business results in the first 11 months of this year, according to the Ministry of Information and Communications.

Hoàng Sơn, Viettel’s deputy general director, reported that the group’s revenue in November was over VNĐ20.37 trillion (US$897.4 million), while profit reached VNĐ3.36 trillion.

Total revenue for 11 months was nearly VNĐ219 trillion, and profit VNĐ37.89 trillion.

The group paid VNĐ35.8 trillion to the State budget in the 11 months.

In December, the group will make efforts to exceed growth targets in both sales and profits for the year, he said.

Cao Duy Hải, MobiFone’s general director, reported that the corporation earned revenue of VNĐ3.8 trillion in November and VNĐ38.7 trillion for the 11 months, or 97 per cent of the plan for the whole year.

The profit for the first 11 months is estimated at VNĐ5.25 trillion, completing 93 per cent of the plan.

MobiFone has paid VNĐ4.17 trillion to the State budget in the 11 months.

In November, MobiFone signed up 843,000 new subscribers, equaling 93 per cent of its plan.

However, the number of subscribers decreased 41.7 per cent compared to the same period last year as the corporation took actions over pre-registered SIM cards.

Trần Mạnh Hùng, VNPT’s chairman of the member’s board, said that the group’s revenue in 11 months had reached 95 per cent of the its yearly plan, up 18 per cent over the same period last year.

The growth of mobile subscribers also grew steadily. Broadband subscribers increased 39 per cent year on year.  VNS
