Hòa Phước gets VietGap certification for pork

HCM CITY — Hòa Phước Livestock Co Ltd belonging to the Hòa Phát Group has received Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practices certification for its pork products.

Trần Anh Trà, its general director, said the company supplied around 5,000 pigs to the market, and from next year would supply pigs also for breeding besides beef and poultry.

Its pork products are sold at Bình Điền and Hóc Môn wholesale markets and a mini supermarket chain.

The company is looking for more distributors with its output expected to reach 20,000 pigs a year from next year and 150,000 by 2021.

Hòa Phát Group, one of the leading private industrial production groups in Việt Nam, entered the agri business in 2015.

Last year, it imported 500 great grandparent pigs from Denmark for breeding. — VNS
