KHÁNH HÒA — AirAsia on Thursday launched a new route connecting Nha Trang in Việt Nam’s central province of Khánh Hòa with Malaysia’s capital city Kuala Lumpur, making it the first airline to operate direct flights on the route.

“Việt Nam is a key market for us and we are humbled to be able to continue to provide more connectivity between Việt Nam and Malaysia. Nha Trang is a great addition to our network and we see good potential in the destination which was why we have decided to increase our routes benefiting travellers from the region and beyond to visit the coastal city,” Spencer Lee, Commercial Director for AirAsia Berhad said.

“We also hope people from Khánh Hòa Province will take the opportunity to discover Malaysia, ASEAN and the world with our extensive network of over 120 destinations across 27 countries,” he added.

AirAsia, the leading and largest low-cost carrier in Asia, started operations in 2001. AirAsia has carried more than 330 million guests and grown its fleet from just two aircraft to over 200.

Besides Nha Trang, AirAsia also connects guests from other cities in Việt Nam to Kuala Lumpur including HCM City, Đà Nẵng and Hà Nội. — VNS
