HCM CITY — Low-cost carrier Jetstar Pacific has launched ticket sales on two new routes – Da Nang-Osaka and Ha Noi-Osaka – with a promotion price of VND1.28 million (US$56.6), adding an assortment of package options available from licensed agents and on the Jetstar website.

The airline said in a statement on June 26 that flights would commence from Da Nang to Osaka on September 1st and from Ha Noi to Osaka on September 2, with four weekly round-trip services from both cities.

Jetstar is the first low cost airline to connect Viet Nam to the vibrant Japanese cultural capital of Osaka.

Jetstar also said that one-way economy fares from Osaka to Ha Noi and from Osaka to Da Nang start from VND1.5 million ($66.4) excluding promotional tickets.

Vietnam welcomed over 740,000 Japanese travellers to the country in 2016 – a number that is set to increase.

The reduced fares and increased connectivity offered by the new services are expected to spur trade and travel even further.

Da Nang especially offers a new holiday destination for Japanese travellers in search of the perfect beach and golf vacation, complete with gorgeous coastlines, four world-class golf courses and the historic town of Hoi An – with its very own Japanese-inspired architecture.

The number of Japanese tourists to Da Nang is expected to grow 15 to 20 per cent due to the launch of direct flights.

The airline said the new services would be operated by Jetstar Pacific’s 180-seat Airbus A320.

Jetstar Pacific currently operates more than 100 weekly international flights to Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Guangzhou and more than 500 weekly domestic flights to most of famous tourist destinations in Vietnam.— VNS
