NAPAS chairman becomes head of SBV payment department

HÀ NỘI – Phạm Tiến Dũng, chairman of the National Payment Corporation of Việt Nam (NAPAS), was appointed head of the State Bank of Việt Nam (SBV)’s payment department on Thursday.

Speaking at the appointment ceremony in Hà Nội on Wednesday, Nguyễn Kim Anh, deputy governor of SBV, said payment was one of three key tasks of the central bank, along with policies, and inspection and supervision.

In the past year, the central bank had paid attention to these tasks, including payment, leading to positive results, Anh said.

On April 26, SBV governor Lê Minh Hưng decided to relieve Bùi Quang Tiên as head of the payment department to assume his new role on the Bank for Investment and Development of Việt Nam (BIDV)’s management board as a representative of 30 per cent of State-owned capital at the bank from May 1. – VNS
