PNJ reports 34 per cent rise in revenue in first quarter

HCM CITY — Phú Nhuận Jewelry Joint-Stock Company reported a pre-tax profit of VNĐ308 billion (US$13.5 million) in the first quarter, a 105 per cent rise over the same period last year.

Revenues were up by 34 per cent at VNĐ3.13 trillion ($137.5 million), with gold and silver jewellery retail sales up by 42 per cent and 49 per cent, respectively, compared to the first quarter of last year.

PNJ opened five new stores in the period, taking the total number to 226 in 40 provinces and cities and affirming its leading position in the jewellery retail distribution system.

The company has won many honours, including recognition as one of the Top 100 working environments in Việt Nam; and receiving the “Vietnamese High Quality Goods” award for 20 consecutive years.

Its chairwoman and general director, Cao Thị Ngoc Dung, is on Forbes Vietnam list of Việt Nam’s 50 Most Influential Women in 2017. — VNS
