Ha Noi to invest in more electric cars

HA NOI (VNS) - Ha Noi may may get 20 more electric cars for tours of the city, following a proposal by the Hoan Kiem District's People's Committee.

The seven-passenger cars would be run by investor Dong Xuan Joint Stock Company.

Twenty electric cars have been running on a trial basis since January 2010. The 30-minute tours of the Old Quarter and surrounds begins every 15 minutes from 7am-9.30pm daily. An estimated 500-700 passengers take the tour each day.

Meanwhile, Dong Xuan company has yet to get a business licence and the cars are not regulated by road traffic laws. - VNS
