Fencers prepare for Asian Games

More than 100 fencers from seven teams nationwide will take part in the National Fencing Championship at Ha Noi's Quan Ngua Sports Palace as part of the sixth National Sports Festival today.

Phung Le Quang, head of fencing section of the National Sports Administration, said that the tournament is more attractive than last year because in preparation for this event, teams including Ha Noi, HCM City had sent their representatives to train abroad.

Quang also added that the tournament's best fencers would be chosen for the national team to compete at the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou, China.

The most talented fencers, who will take part in prestigious international events including the ASEAN and Asian Fencing Championship, will be coached by a foreigner.
