VN sweep across the board titles at Asian tennis tournament

Viet Nam made a clean sweep of all four events at the International Tennis Federation's 14-and-Under Division 2 Championship in HCM City on Saturday.

Nguyen Dac Tien overcame compatriot Nguyen Mau Vinh Quang 6-4, 6-4 in the final to claim the title at the boys' event.

Tien also earned another title as he and his partner Le Phuoc Dang came from behind to beat Vietnamese duo, Quang and Tran Gia Huy, in the final boys' double event.

In the girls' competition, Nguyen Linh Tiffany clinched the double titles at the girls' singles and doubles events.

In the singles event, the 14-year-old Tiffany needed three sets to beat Samarasingh Medhira of Sri Lanka in the final.

Tiffany and Nguyen Thu Phuong had to work hard in the girls' doubles final to overcome Vaziri Sadaf Sadegh and Al Olifi Shaema from one set down to complete Viet Nam's clean sweep.-VNS
