Grandmaster Liem draws again

HA NOI (VNS)– Top Vietnamese chess player Le Quang Liem drew with Maxime Vachier-Lagrave of France in the seventh round of the US Spice Cup today.

In other matches, Csaba Balogh of Hungary tied with Wesley So of the Philippines, while Chinese player Ding Liren defeated Georg Meier of Germany.

With this result, grandmaster Liem stands fourth in the competition's rankings with 3.5 points, while So, Vachier-Lagrave and Ding share first place with four points each.

In the next round, the HCM City-born chess player will battle Ding, while Balogh plays Meier and Vachier-lagrave will meet So. – VNS
