Team to compete in Asian Airgun Champs

HA NOI – (VNS) Marksman Hoang Xuan Vinh has been chosen in the team to compete at the fifth Asian Airgun Championship in Nanchang, China, from October 29 to November 4.

The team also includes Le Thi Hoang Ngoc, Nguyen Minh Chau, Nguyen Thuy Dung, Tham Thuy Hong, Nguyen Thi Phuong and Nguyen Thi Hang.

Vinh and Ngoc competed in the London Olympics in August. Vinh finished fourth in the men's 50m pistol event, setting a Viet Nam record.

In China, Vinh will compete in the men's 10m air pistol against Olympic rivals, including gold medal winner Jin Jongoh

Other Vietnamese marksmen will compete against world and Olympic medallists, such as South Korea's Jin Jong-oh, Lee Daemyung and Choi Young-rae, China's Tan Zongliang and Pang Wei and Japan's Matsuda Tomoyuki.

Shooters will take part in the National Shooting Championships from November 19-30. – VNS
