Women beat Philippines in regional football event

Viet Nam beat the Philippines 4-2 on Saturday to secure a place at the semi-finals of the ongoing ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Women's Championship in HCM City.

On Thursday, Viet Nam defeated Singapore 10-0.

Coach Chen Yun Fat had key players, including striker Nguyen Thi Hoa and goalie Kieu Trinh, to stay on the bench.

Despite the lack of the star players, the Vietnamese team were in good form and still took control of the game.

With two wins, Viet Nam ranks top of Group A with six points. They will play the last group match against Myanmar today.-VNS
