Iran face Uzbekistan in U19 final

Iran will face Uzbekistan in the final of the Southeast Asia Football Federation (AFF) Under-19 Football Championships tomorrow at Thong Nhat Stadium, HCM City.

In the third and final round of matches yesterday, Iran beat Australia 4-1 to top the group with nine points following three consecutive wins. Australia opened the scoring in the first half through Corey Edward Brown before Iran bounced back in the second half to score four goals.

In the other final group match, Uzbekistan defeated Viet Nam 4-0 to finish second in the group with six points.

The tournament saw Australia, Iran, Uzbekistan and Viet Nam compete in a round-robin format with the top two teams advancing to the final.

Fourth-placed Viet Nam will now meet Australia in the third-place playoff . — VNS
