New coach names U19 squad for Southeast Asian Championships

HA NOI – Coach Mai Duc Chung has selected 23 players for the national under-19 team who will compete at the coming South-east Asian Championships in HCM City.

The squad gathers four strikers, seven midfielders, nine defenders and three goalkeepers.

At the tournament, Viet Nam will play against teams from Iran, Australia and Uzbekistan. They are all considered stronger rivals.

However Chung and his players are confident and are determined to try their hardest in every game.

The opening ceremony is on Sunday while the final is scheduled for September 8. – VNS
