Tuan Anh rides to second stage victory in An Giang Cup

Do Tuan Anh of Domesco Pharmacy Dong Thap claimed victory in the second stage of the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta cycling tournament – An Giang Plant Protection Cup yesterday.

The 118km-stage stretches from Tra Vinh City to Cao Lanh City. After the first 30km, Le Tuan Linh of Binh Duong broke from the pack to take the lead. However, 34 other cyclists kept up with him for more than 50km.

The leading group approached the finish line together, but Anh sprinted ahead to cross the line first with a time of 2:53.12. Tran Le Minh Tuan of Military Zone 7 and Truong Nguyen Thanh Nhan of Eximbank HCM City 1 came in second and third, respectively.

Finishing in the top group, Dinh Quoc Viet of Eximbank HCM City 1 took the yellow jersey with a combined time of 4:36.06, followed by Nhan and Trinh Phat Dat of An Giang Plant Protection 1.

Eximbank HCM City 2 temporarily topped the team's rankings with an overall time of 13:49.31, followed by two teams from Domesco Pharmacy Dong Thap.

Today cyclists will continue the 135km-third stage, travelling from Cao Lanh City to Soc Trang City.-VNS
