Linh fails in London

Vietnamese taekwondo hopeful Chu Hoang Dieu Linh was convincingly beaten 13-1 by No 6 seed Helena Fromm of Germany in the women's 67kg preliminary round yesterday at the London Olympics.

Linh won a silver medal at the Asian zone Olympic qualifiers in Bangkok last year to qualify for the Games. In March, she lost 6-10 to Fromm in the semi-finals of the German Open.

On Wednesday, martial artist Le Huynh Chau also lost to No 2 seed Wei Chen Yang of Chinese Taipei in the men's 58kg event.-VNS
