Vietnamese shooters arrive at Olympic village ready to compete

Shooters Hoang Xuan Vinh and Le Thi Hoang Ngoc have joined other Vietnamese athletes in the Olympic village in London.

They will compete at the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich from today until August 6. Vinh will compete in the men's 10m air pistol and 50m pistol events while Ngoc will participate in the women's 10m air pistol and 25m pistol events.

They took part in a pre-Olympic shooting tournament in June and have just finished a one month training course in South Korea.

Head coach Nguyen Thi Nhung said: "Vinh and Ngoc don't have much chance of causing an upset but they will try their best. Competing at the Olympics will provide them with experience they can use at future tournaments." — VNS
