Futsal teams set to compete on Han River location

The central coastal city will host a futsal (indoor football) tournament – the Larue Cup – in East Park on the banks of the Han River from July 10-15, the organising committee announced yesterday.

As scheduled, 64 teams will be competing in a knock-out five-a-side format on astroturf.

The winners will walk away with a cash-prize of VND30 million (US$1,400).

This year will mark the fifth time the Larue Cup has been held, with the participation of 4,000 players from 600 teams.

Da Nang will be the last city to host the tournament after HCM City, Ha Noi, Can Tho, Nha Trang, Tien Giang, Dac Lac, Gia Lai, Quy Nhon, Quang Ngai, Quang Nam and Quang Binh.

The organising committee plans to host a rendezvous for the champions from each province and city next year.-VNS
