Young badminton players set for battle

Eight Vietnamese shuttlers will be taking part in the Asian Youth Under-19 Badminton Championships in Gimcheon City, South Korea from tomorrow.

The tournament has attracted 16 teams, including the best in the world from China, Malaysia, Japan and Indonesia.

The Vietnamese representatives are Pham Hong Nam, Do Tuan Duc, Ngo Xuan Tu, Pham Cao Cuong, in men's event; and Pham Nhu Thao, Le Thu Huyen, Dinh Thi Phuong Hong and Thai Vuong Nhi, in the women's competition.

Tomorrow, they will participate in the team competition. Viet Nam have been drawn in Group D with China and Japan.

The tourney will wrap up next Saturday. — VNS
