Local basketballers triumph

Khanh Hoa and Binh Thuan won the men's and women's events at the central region qualifiers of the National U17 Basketball Tournament in Da Nang City on Thursday.

Khanh Hoa beat Hue National High School 35-24 to finish first in the men's division while Binh Thuan came out top against host's Phan Boi Chau High School.

The first and second placed teams of each event will represent the central region at the final round in Da Nang City that will kick off tomorrow. — VNS
