Young swimmers rank fifth in Southeast Asian event

Viet Nam's swimming team ranked fifth at the 36th Southeast Asian Age Groups Swimming Championships which wrapped up in Palembang, Indonesia.

They brought home 11 gold, eight silver and four bronze medals.

Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, currently training in the US, also took part in Indonesia. The 16-year-old girl bagged four gold, five silver and two bronze medals in the 15-17 age group.

Vien's teammate Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen took two silver medals in the same age group.

Notably, 15-year-old Tran Duy Khoi won seven golds and one silver while breaking five Southeast Asian records in the 13-15 age group.-VNS
