Ninh Binh beat Kien Giang in V-League match

HA NOI — Ninh Binh demonstrated their skills in defeating Kien Giang 4-1during their round 20 match on their home turf yesterday.

With the support of fans, the hosts scored the first goal in the 13th minute of the match thanks to labour of Baptile John. He coolly put his header past the goalkeeper Tien Hung of Kien Giang.

Just 17 minutes later, Danh Ngoc doubled the score for the hosts by a penalty kick.

After the break, Kien Giang's attack playing threatened their hosts, with a goal from Henrich in 56th minute.

However, several minutes later, visiting fullback Quang Huy's error against Cong Thao allowed the hosts to capitalise on a penalty kick. Hoang Vissai easily defeated goalie Hung to raise the score to 3-1 for the hosts.

After missed scoring opportunities, Tien Thanh of the hosts brought the score up 4-1 in the last minutes of the match.

Meanwhile, at Pleiku Stadium, Song Lam Nghe An drew with Hoang Anh Gia Lai 2-2, Binh Duong tied with Navibank Sai Gon 1-1 at Binh Duong Stadium, Dong Thap drew with Ha Noi FC 2-2 at Dong Thap Stadium, Sai Gon FC drew goalless with Thanh Hoa at Thong Nhat Stadium (to be updated).

In round 20 of the V-League games played on Saturday, Khanh Hoa beat Hai Phong 1-0 at Nha Trang Stadium, while Ha Noi T&T beat SHB Da Nang 2-1 at Hang Day Stadium.

After 20 rounds, Ha Noi T&T are temporarily in the lead with 39 points, SHB Da Nang and Sai Gon FC come in at second and third place with 35 and 32 points, respectively. — VNS
