Minh eliminated at Malaysia Open

Viet Nam's top badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh was eliminated from the ongoing Yonex-Sunrise Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold 2012 after losing 16-21, 16-21 to Sony Dwi Kuncoro of Indonesia in the third round on Thursday.

The Olympian, seeded second at the event and No 11 in the world, was defeated by his rival who is world No 72.

Minh, who was expected to win the title, is one of 15 Vietnamese athletes to have earned a berth to the London Olympics this summer thus far.-VNS
