Thais triumph at volleyball meet

Thailand won the Asian Women's Beach Volleyball Tournament which concluded in the northern province of Quang Ninh at the weekend.

The champions pocketed US$3,000 in prize money, while runners-up Viet Nam 3 were awarded $2,500. The Chinese team came in third, receiving US$2,000.

Thirteen teams from seven nations and territories in Asia, including China, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia and hosts, Viet Nam participated in the event.

The annual tournament was co-organised by the Quang Ninh provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Viet Nam Volleyball Federation.-VNS
