Quan progresses in ITF Men's Futures tennis

HCM CITY – Nguyen Minh Quan progressed to the second round of the men's singles at the International Tennis Federation Futures Tournament in HCM City yesterday.

Quan beat Australia's Frost Leon 7-5, 6-1.

However, in the men's doubles, Quan and Le Quoc Khanh were stopped in the first round by Constantin Belot and Kevin Botti from France, 2-6, 3-6.

Other Vietnamese knocked out of the doubles were Ho Huynh Dan Mach and Ly Hoang Nam, defeated by Sriram Balaji and Rohan Gajjar from India 4-6, 3-6; Nguyen Hoang Thien and Canadian George Jecminek, defeated by Nuttanon Kadchapanan and Perakiat Siriluethaiwattana from Thailand 2-6, 3-6.

The tournament will end on Sunday.-VNS
