I am a resident of Houston, Texas, USA. My 13-year-old son is quadriplegic, unable to stand, walk and wheelchair bound.
I tried all sorts of treatments such as speech therapy, acupressure, magnetic and infrared therapies, without any significance results.
Do you think acupuncture will help him regain movement? Do you know someone in Houston's Vietnamese community who can help him ? Thanks.
Viet Nam News sent your question to Associate Professor Nghiem Huu Thanh, director of the National Hospital of Acupuncture.
He said acupuncture may partially improve your son's condition, however, treatment will take a long time.
If possible, you should bring your son to Viet Nam for exploratory acupuncture to determine detailed and proper treatment.
Thanh expressed his regret that he did not know any experts in Houston's Vietnamese community who could help.
