Fire rips through cashew warehouse

BINH PHUOC — A blaze on Wednesday destroyed hundreds of tonnes of dry cashew nuts in a cashew warehouse in southeastern Binh Phuoc Province.

The blaze was completely extinguished after a 10-hour effort from local fire-fighters. Damage was estimated to be VND20 billion (US$952,000).

No casualties were reported as the company was far away from populated areas.

Police are currently investigating the cause. — VNS
